Plugins
Plugins give you an ever increasing range of
capabilities, but allow you to choose only those
that fit your needs. No more excess baggage
to carry around and slow you down.
Four plugins are available. They provide 8
additional statistical analysis and visualization
methods. Previous releases of ViSta included
the functionality that is now available in the
core engine plus the multivariate and multidimensional
scaling plugins (but these plugins also provide
cluster analysis and nonmetric MDS, both not
previously available).
- Log-Linear
Analysis - by Pedro Valero
(April 25th, 2001 - 789 KBytes download)
-
Multivariate Analysis by Forrest
W. Young
(April 25th, 2001 - 939 KBytes download)
- Multivariate
Regression - Regression with
multiple response variables. Includes
Redundancy Analysis
- Cluster Analysis
- Provides a wide range
of aglomerative clustering techniques
based on a variety of distance measures.
- Principal Component
Analysis - Analyzes correlations
or covariances computed from multivariate
data.
- Correspondence
Analysis - performs simple
(not multiple) correspondence analysis
of frequency data. Homals (below) performs
multiple correspondence analysis.
- Multidimensional Scaling (not yet
available)
(January 20th, 2000 - 0.98 MBytes download).
- Metric MDS -
simple or replicated metric MDS
- Nonmetric MDS
- simple or replicated nonmetric MDS (in
development).
-
Homogeneity Analysis by Jan de Leeuw
(April 25th, 2001 - 773 KBytes download).
Jan de Leeuw's homogeneity analysis (Homals)
has been interfaced with ViSta. No visualizations
are available at this date. Unless there
are problems with the interface, this is a
mature and reliable system.
-
MultiLevel Modeling
(April 25th, 2001 - 767 KBytes download).
Multilevel modeling, with unique visualization
capabilities. This is a new module that interfaces
the Terrace package with ViSta. While
Terrace has been extensively used, the interface
and visualizations are new. Please let us
know of any problems.
